This is Chipita Falls. It's named after Chipita, the wife of
Chief Ouray
of the Ute Indian Tribe. She and the Chief were invited to
Washington
D.C. to meet with President Rutherford B Hayes. President
Hayes
called him "the most intellectual man I've ever conversed with."
Which,
of course, didn't stop him from screwing the Ute's out of their
land. |
