The hoodoos are created by the actions of erosion in combination with the freeze/thaw cyclesin the canyon. Bryce Canyon's unique weather is known to cause around 200 freeze/thaw cycles every year, which accounts for why there are more hoodoo formations here than anywhere else in the US.
